Early printed books were conservative in content and were filled with medieval images and ideas, like the Fate; from Ship of Fools from the 16th century. It is a cartoon, meant to show how people's lives go up and down, showing life and fortune as a circle.

Nowadays thousands of home and institutional libraries, special collections, book fairs, exhibitions and clubs bring together man and books regardless to reasons. It may be for buying, selling, reading, skimming, studying, books always offer an excellent source of information or entertainment.

The proper care of books takes into account the possibility of chemical changes to the cover and text, so they are best stored in reduced lighting, definitely out of direct sunlight, at cool temperatures and at moderate humidity. As they accompany our lives through rough times in history, it is our responsibility to preserve them, to care and safe keep them for future generations.
